Beaufort House
Job Description Room Attendant.
Scope and purpose of job to ensure the maximum comfort of guests, by providing a high standard of guest care, whilst servicing a section of apartments, with minimal supervision, to the required standard of ` Beaufort house.
Responsible to executive housekeeper / assistant housekeeper.
Main Duties
1. To be responsible for collecting worksheets, dect phone and master key at start of duty. To read the worksheets in order to familiarise yourself with the priorities of the day.
2. To ensure that vacant clean apartments are dusted as required, before commencing the cleaning of any other apartments.
3. To clean and service all apartments, maintaining a high standard of hygiene, cleanliness, and presentation throughout by performing the following tasks :
A) To remove all rubbish in waste bins and ashtrays, cleaning afterwards.
B) To ensure that bed linen is changed every 2nd day of the stay, unless the linen is badly soiled or as otherwise indicated by the Housekeeper.
C) To dust / polish all furniture and miscellaneous items in each room, taking care not to disturb any guest belongings.
D) To vacuum all carpets.
E) To wash and dry all bathroom and cloakroom areas within an apartment.
F) To replace all used Towels, guest supplies and stationary as required.
G) To provide a good level of cleaning in occupied apartment kitchens, followed by a thorough cleaning upon departure.
H) To ensure all soft furnishings are arranged and presented neatly.i.e cushions ‘plumped up’, curtain tie backs re- hooked etc.
4. All tasks must be carried out with minimal noise, in a safe and hygienic manner.
5. All soiled linen should be placed in a linen bag, and then transferred to the linen room.
6. All rubbish bags must be tied securely and taken to the bin area outside, immediately after each apartment service.
7. To immediately hand in to reception, any guest keys found in the apartments.
8. To ensure all lost property left behind is logged in the lost property book immediately. It must not be left in the linen room.
9. To report any malfunctioning equipment, or maintenance faults immediately.
10. Buckets and equipment should be kept tidy, and must not obstruct corridors and fire exits while in use.
11. Any reject linen should be kept separate, and placed in to the reject basket in the linen room.
12. To carry out the cleaning of other apartments, for replacements of vacant apartments etc, as specified by the Housekeeper.
13. To change any soiled blankets, pillows, bed covers, mattress protectors, shower curtains etc.
14. To liaise with the Housekeeper on the cleaning schedule, ensuring jobs of the week or day are completed by the given date.
15. To deal promptly and courteously with guest requests, informing the Housekeeper or Guest Services if further assistance is required.
16. To assist in mattress turning when assigned.
17. To assist in the laundering and pressing of net curtains when assigned.
18. To assist in bringing back apartments undergoing refurbishment.
19. To carry out the cleaning of public areas and staff areas as specified by the housekeeper.
20. To ensure that corridors are left clean and tidy before going off duty.
21. To empty and clean vacuum cleaners at least once a week.
22. To restock the store cupboard and clean the bucket before going off duty.
23. To count all soiled linen removed from apartments, and record it on the linen count paper. To total the amounts at the end of the day, and then transfer these amounts to the count sheet in the linen room.
24. To attend any meetings and training sessions as required.
25. To report to the Housekeeper anything or anyone suspicious.
26. To report to the Housekeeper anything which may be a Fire, Health, or Safety issue.
27. To carry out any other duties that are deemed reasonable, outside the normal daily / weekly routine, but within the scope of the position.
