We are looking for a positive, reliable and sensitive person to join our great team looking after our lovely 23-year-old daughter. Her rare genetic condition means she is cortically blind, has intractable epilepsy and uses a wheelchair. She is happy, warm and sociable.
She loves to be out and about and enjoys music, dancing, massage, cafes, yoga, walks, good food and swimming. She communicates non-verbally. She lives in her own flat and is supported by a team of support workers.
The candidate must have experience of working in a health, social, education or family care setting and be reliable, dependable, caring and motivated. It would be great if they share some of our daughters interests. It is essential to have previous experience working with people with learning difficulties and epilepsy, although full training will be given to the right person.
A driving licence is essential as is experience of driving in London, or similar!
We offer excellent training and support and the hourly rate is £14 plus 6-weeks holiday pay ( full-time equivalent based on a 37.5 hour week of £26000)
We would like someone for 30 + hours a week through the summer holidays from July to the middle of September, with additional availablity for bank shifts/training term time and other holidays.
