Peabody has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Waterloo. The successful applicant will join us on a full time, permanent basis and will receive a salary of £60,000 per annum.
The Senior Quantity Surveyor role:
Responsible for the day to day management and development of the area/department and its employees by setting, reviewing, monitoring and improving the targets and activities carried out thereby ensuring that business objectives are met.
Accountable for delivering a programme of cost and quality commercial audit, ensuring that a rigorous process is applied and contractor payment applications are thoroughly validated before payment is released.
Lead on developing financial performance data to benchmark repairs, maintenance and investment contractor cost per job and identifying opportunities for improvement and to share best practice.
Skills/experience required by the Senior Quantity Surveyor:
- Proven management and team development skills.
- Ability to work independently, exercising good initiative and judgement.
- Proven time management and prioritization skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and clear communication skills, both oral and written.
- Proven attention to detail and ability to work on a variety of tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines and targets.
- Excellent knowledge of commercial processes.
- Excellent knowledge of contracts, procurement methods, and the construction and maintenance industry.
- Knowledge of statistics and statistical analysis.
- experience in successfully working with a team of professional and technical staff.
Qualifications required of our Senior Quantity Surveyor:
- MRICS or FRICS (Quantity Surveying and Construction Professional Group) or working towards one of these and significant senior management experience.
