Peabody has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Inspector to join our team in London. The successful applicant will join us on a full time, permanent basis and will receive a salary of £37,704 - £44,000 per annum.

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Mechanical Inspector to join our expanding team. The post-holder would be responsible for the day to day management and development of the area/department and its employees by setting, reviewing, monitoring and improving the targets and activities carried out thereby ensuring that business objectives are met. To carry out inspections including resident surveys of gas and mechanical projects and provide advice on various mechanical issues, auditing the contractor’s servicing and breakdown work and auditing of landlord gas safety records.
Skills, knowledge and experience required by the Senior Mechanical Inspector:
- Ability to work independently, exercising good initiative and judgement.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven time management and prioritisation skills.
- Proven experience and ability to deliver excellent customer care and valuing diversity.
- Proven attention to detail and ability to work on a variety of tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines and targets.
- To ensure that all policies and procedures are adhered to so that consistent and standard practice is achieved across the organisation.
- A commitment to continuing professional development.
- Working knowledge of the gas/mechanical services industry.
- Intermediate IT skill including knowledge of the Microsoft Office package.
- experience of social housing environment.
- Ability to devise, communicate, and gain acceptance for and implement new ideas and technical solutions to building services problems and to convey information to others by way of written reports.
- Demonstrate experience and skills managing customer relationships to ensure a high level of customer care and satisfaction.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills and experience of creating and maintaining accurate and complex written and computerised records as well as collating and disseminating information.
Qualifications required by the Senior Mechanical Inspector:
- ACS qualification Domestic
- City and Guilds training for legionella control.
- Full UK drivers licence and use of vehicle.
Desirable:
- HNC/D qualification
- CIBSE membership
- CORGI Level 4 VRO Certificate in Gas safety management in social housing.
