Senior Marketing Communications ManagerA Children's Cancer Charity based in Central London are currently seeking a Senior Marketing Communications Manager to join their team.The object of the Senior Marketing Communications Manager role is to lead and offer expertise on all aspects of messaging, branding and publications to help maximize the effectiveness of our charitable and fundraising activities.As the Senior Marketing Communications Manager you will also assist the Head of Communications in providing strategic marketing and communication leadership across platforms to maximize awareness of our life-saving research. Further responsibilities and skills required for the role are as follows:-
To act as guardian of the brand and image, working across the organisation to ensure this is adhered to and is consistent in all communicationsTo ensure campaigns are run smoothly and deliver excellent resultsTo lead the Senior Website Co-coordinator and Digital Marketing Co-coordinator to ensure Children with Cancer UK are optimising digital opportunities and channelsTo contribute to the Children with Cancer UK Communications strategyTo deputise for the Head of Communications.
Key Priorities, Duties and Relationships Strategy and Planning.
Assist the Head of Communications in the development and implementation of a brand and marketing strategy to build our profile and engage key stakeholders Work with the Digital Marketing Co-coordinator and Senior Website Co-coordinator to develop a digital communications strategy encompassing website and social media to increase our profile and engagement through digital channels.
Leadership
Deputise for Head of Communications when necessaryTo lead, manage, motivate and develop members of the Communication Team-Senior Website Co-coordinator and Digital Marketing Co-coordinator Manage the Children with Cancer UK brand and develop key marketing communication assets, including campaigns, promotional material, leaflets etc. Be point of approval for messages, image style and presentation Maintain excellent knowledge of new and emerging digital opportunities and trends in technology, sharing opportunities with teams as appropriate Ensure the Senior Website Co-coordinator and Digital Marketing Co-coordinator are optimising use of rich content for the website and other platforms.
Brand leadership
Act as guardian for brand and image Responsibility for ensuring there is consistency in the charity image style and presentation across the charity. Work with fundraising groups to develop and ensure style and image consistency Work with Head of Communications and consultants to develop toolkits to be used by staff across the charity when communicating externally Maintain a central source of design templates and suppliers for all marketing, merchandising and publicity materials to be used for all marketing and publicity Work with fundraising teams to develop brand advertising campaigns across all channelsIn conjunction with Fundraising Managers, regularly review the style, structure and content of all documentation and promotional marketing materials Work with the fundraising teams to ensure fundraising campaigns are optimised and integrated across all channels.
Delivery for impact
Lead the design and production of the Children with Cancer UK Annual Review, demonstrating impact to a defined timeframe Use Web, digital and PR measuring tools to keep track of activities, to listen and evaluate what is happening in the marketplace Working with the wider Communications Team, ensure that everyone is kept updated regarding our charitable expenditure and grant funding and ensure that this is communicated in a user-friendly and easy to understand manner Support campaigning and lobbying activities of the charity to ensure maximum impact and effectiveness.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
To lead our Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and Brain Tumour Awareness Month activities and build further campaigns at other times of the year Work with the fundraising teams to ensure materials and messaging promotes Children with Cancer UK’s reputation as a credible, authoritative and respected charity Work closely with our PR agency and the Head of Communications to ensure all strategic PR opportunities are optimised and that there is consistency of message across all media outputs Work with our Research Grants Manager to ensure that current research projects are clearly communicated and that there is consistency in all our communications with supporters and stakeholders Work with teams to maximize and strengthen our digital fundraising potential Attend selected public relations events to support colleagues and ensure maximum impact Undertake specific projects related to enhancing the charity’s image through positive communications and information.
experience/qualifications
3 To 4 years’ management experience of a Communications/ Marketing department Strong Marketing background and experience Good level of experience and understanding dealing with brand and corporate identity Strong team management experience experience of managing web and/ or magazine content.

Our aims are to determine the causes, find cures, improve treatments and provide care for children with cancer. Our work started with a promise We were founded in 1988 following the death of 14-year old Paul O’Gorman to leukaemia and, just nine months later, his sister Jean, also to cancer. Before his death Paul’s parents promised to help other children with leukaemia and, today, we fund life-saving research into childhood leukaemia as well as all other forms of other childhood cancers.  We fund life-saving research to improve our understanding of childhood cancer and to find safer, more effective treatments for all young patients.  We fund innovative welfare projects to help children and families in their fight against childhood cancer and we campaign and raise awareness of childhood cancer, to protect more children and give more young cancer patients a brighter future.
