We are looking for a top notch Senior Housekeeper / House Manager to care for a large period home in central London, which is currently used as a second home therefore occasionally occupied.
The main aspect of the role is to keep the house clean to very high standards, following a planned, detailed deep cleaning schedule to ensure the house is always in a suitable condition for residents, even if they arrive with a few days’ notice on occasion.
When preparing for visits, the Housekeeper will ensure all is set-up and ready for arrival including beds made, Towels and toiletries in place, groceries purchased etc.
When the family or guests are home, usual daily housekeeping duties are expected for example, making beds, cleaning bathrooms, cleaning the Kitchen and Dining areas, emptying bins, plumping up cushions etc. To ensure rooms are presentable. There is a small patio to be swept as needed in summer months and outdoor furniture to be wiped down. Taking care of laundry and dry cleaning, polishing shoes or taking to be repaired.
In addition, the Housekeeper will work with the lady of the house/ PA to ensure desired groceries and simple, family meals are provided.
At all times, the Housekeeper will remain vigilant and proactive, thinking ahead to what might be helpful for the family and taking note of any issues within the house that need to be rectified by the maintenance man (too hot/ cold, fridge not to temperature, light bulb to be changed etc.).

Hours:                  Monday to Friday, 7am – 4pm in residence or 8am – 5pm during out of residence periods with occasional weekend work.

Driver:                  Not required but advantageous.
Special notes:      Ability to travel is not required but would be beneficial.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

General housekeeping duties to very high standards.
Dusting and polishing
Making beds and changing linens
Vacuuming and cleaning carpets and rugs
Sweeping/vacuuming, polishing, and mopping hard floors.
Sorting, washing, loading, and unloading laundry.
Ironing
Tidying up rooms
Monitoring cleaning supplies and ordering more as needed.
Reporting any necessary repairs or replacements.
Grocery shopping and cooking simple meals when required.

Candidates must be / have:

experience in a large private residence and understanding of expectations of a service role.

Excellent written and spoken English and able to confidently communicate by Whats App and email as helpful.

An interest in cooking simple, nutritious family meals.
