April's Cafe at Boutique 1 on Sloane Street, Chelsea is looking for a senior chef to join their small, tight-knit team.
April's is open seven days a week, 9am - 7pm (12 - 6 on Sunday) serving breakfast, serious lunch, cocktails and nice wine.
THE ROLE
You will be responsible for some prep, assembling hot and cold dishes ordered from the cafe menu and daily baking in a small open plan kitchen. This will involve heating or plating prepared ingredients to order and preparing and baking daily cakes. You will work on the food counter alongside a service team member who will be preparing hot and cold drinks.
THE HOURS
- 40 hours per week, working flexible shifts.
- April's Cafe is open from 9 am to 7 pm, seven days per week.
- The work does not involve evening shifts.
- You will work in a team of two on-site chefs working one crossover shift.
- You will be supported by the Executive chef of Bistrotheque.
SKILLS REQUIRED
- You should have experience as a chef in a commercial kitchen working with hot and cold food prepared to order.
- You will be required to work safely and will be trained to the required level of food safety.
- April’s has an open kitchen so you will be expected to have a high standard of personal hygiene and personal presentation.
- You will be required to keep the kitchen area clean and will be responsible for cleaning down the food preparation service areas.
- You will work alongside the cafe service staff so you should be able to fit extremely well into a small efficient team and be a good communicator.
- You should be able to prioritise and have a high level of organisation and good numeracy.
- You will be expected to carry out the weekly food stock take and actively control wastage.
- You should be computer-literate.
- You will be supported and trained by the Executive Chef of Bistrotheque.
