Days and Hours: Shifts can be flexible and may vary from weekends, afternoons, after school, sleeping night shifts and extra day time cover in the school holidays. Monthly Rota with other support staff will be provided.
We are delighted to be working in association with CCMS case management company on this position. They will be carrying out all recruitment once candidate CVs have been forwarded.
Ben aged 11, is an intelligent and energetic child who has interests typical for his age and is part of an active family. He has Cerebral Palsy and needs full assistance with all of his activities. Ben uses high-tech assistive communication to support his limited speech.
Ben attends a mainstream school and will need assistance before and after school as well as overnight and at weekends. Carers will work within Ben’s home and under the day-to-day direction of his mother and case manager. Part of your role will involve working with therapists, carrying out his daily therapy programs and enabling his use of technology.
Ben has an assistance dog and you’ll have the opportunity to be involved in the dog’s daily care and training regime. There may also be occasions when you will accompany the family on days out, holidays or look after Ben overnight to provide his mother with respite.
This job will suit someone with a positive attitude, a good sense of humour and someone able to work confidently alone and as well as part of a team. There will need to be a degree of flexibility as it is expected that the successful applicants will work a combination of nights, afternoons, evening and weekend shifts.
