Firefly Education London is seeking a tutor to work with a 14 year old in Egypt. The boy attends the British International School of Cairo where he is studying for iGCSEs. He is struggling in school, especially with writing, attention, staying on track, and study skills.
He has been diagnosed with ADHD, as well as having issues with motor planning, and confidence.
We are seeking a tutor to live in Egypt, to tutor him after school for approximately 3 hours per day to work on both study skills and course content. The tutor must have experience and training with ADHD and SPLD.
The role involves tutoring the boy on his subject matter as well as skills to help him study, test taking skills and techniques to help him through the school day and his exams. His speaking skills are very high which is a mismatch from his reading comprehension. He is very social and enjoys time with his friends, but finds school difficult and has his confidence knocked by coursework and exam results.
The role with run after school, Sunday-Wednesday after school from about 3:30-6:30pm, Thursday off, a few hours on Friday and a longer day Saturday of about 5 hours. Planning and prep will be outside of the contact hours.
The school has about 3 weeks off at Christmas and Easter, you will have some of this time off and some will be spent tutoring.
The role runs from as soon as possible until late June when the school year ends, and if it goes well there is an opportunity for renewal. Visa, flights, and place to live are provided. The family is able to provide local travel at times, as well to arrange visits to other places in Egypt.
Candidates Shall:
• Have a clear DBS
• Have experience and training working with teens with SPLD and ADHD
• Be able to move to Egypt as soon as possible
• Be able to stay in Egypt until late June 2022
