SEN one to one Wanted in London

Posted: 14-05-2024
Place: Camden, Greater London

We are seeking someone to work with G, 4 ½ years old in his reception class and after school until his parents come home, as well as during school holidays, comprising full days at home and out in the local community.
G is very bright, with well above average verbal skills.  He speaks English and French at home. He attends a prep school in Hampstead where he is struggling with regulating his emotions, impulse control, and sensory needs.
He also has challenging behaviours, so strong behaviour management is key to the role.
While at home he will need activities as well.  He likes to cook and bake, enjoys crafts, likes going to the park and going to train stations to watch the trains.
He benefits from a flexible personality who sets firm boundaries and follows through with all expectations.
The role will most likely be 8:30am-6:30pm Monday-Friday. This involves going to the family home in the morning to pick up G and take him to school, working as a one-to-one at school, then taking him home and staying with him until one of his parents arrives in the evening. The role has statutory holidays of 28 days. Not to be taken in term time.
Candidates shall:
·      Have experience working with children who have sensory processing issues.
·      Have strong behaviour management strategies.
·      Be able to set clear boundaries
·      Be able to work full time year round.
·      Have a clear DBS
·      Have the right to work in the UK
·      Have clear written and spoken English.
If you can speak French that would be a huge bonus!

Salary depending on experience and training, £25,000 plus.
As soon as possible interviews, ideally 2nd January start.
