Alex is an engaging and active 11-year-old with good sense of humour. He loves getting out and about, trips into town, bowling and enjoys shopping and going to the supermarket. His younger brother Owen (9) is very sporty and busy with after school activities. Alex has ADHD, Klinefelter Syndrome with ASD traits and a severe speech disorder. He can be very strong willed; a calm and patient approach is essential.
We require a confident, proactive and sensitive SEN Nanny / Manny who can support Alex to explore new interests and activities and promote his independence and encourage self-confidence. Your role will be to pick Alex from school, supervise the after-school routine, organise different activities or just relax with the boys at home. Mum works from a home office at the top of the house but her job requires her to work away from home on a regular basis. She requires a SEN Nanny/Manny who has the ability to work alongside her and who is able to look after the boys independently as well.
You will need a good understanding and extensive experience with children with similar needs, strong common sense and positive approach. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with a background in Psychology, SEN or Occupational therapy.
This exciting position will suit an active, energetic and fun support worker with a can do attitude who will build a trusting and engaging relationship with Alex and help him to achieve his full potential.
