Essential experience: Supporting a child with ASD, nannying, ABA therapy.
Start Date: January 2022
Days and Hours: Monday – Friday 13:00pm – 19:00 pm.
Peter is an affectionate and happy 3-year-old who loves running around, going to the playground, swimming, enjoying nursery Rhymes and watching Peppa Pig.  Peter has a younger brother Mike (2) who is in nursery full time and another sibling on their way, so this is a very busy household! Peter was diagnosed with ASD 18 months ago, his speech is delayed but he can clearly express his likes and dislikes.
We are looking for a level headed and organised SEN nanny who can build a caring relationship with Peter as well as engage with his siblings. You will need extensive experience with children with ASD and be able to implement your skills into the daily routine to focus on Peter's development of his social and verbal skills and be confident to introduce new strategies.
You will assist with light housework, nursery duties and preparing nutritious meals for the children. Peter's feeding regime can be a challenging time and you’ll need to be very patient and innovative. At present Peter doesn't like to eat cooked food and finds it difficult to stay seated while eating. He is not fully toilet-trained and you will be able to support this. You will organise stimulating activities and trips for Peter, swimming and liaise with therapists and teachers.  Mum is very hand-on and requires an SEN Nanny who can work alongside her, as well as taking sole charge.
This exciting position will suit a competent, energetic and kind SEN Nanny.  Someone who can multi-task, ‘pitch in’ as and when needed and celebrate Peter’s milestones with his family.  We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with a background in Psychology,  SALT or Occupational therapy. A challenging but very rewarding role to work with this fantastic family and ensuring that Peter is reaching his full potential.
