We are looking for a Self-Storage Manager to lead the team at our West London store. We are looking for someone who can lead by example, offer first class customer service, maintain high standards, build new customer relationships, drive sales, manage a small team and be prepared to Muck in. The role would suit applicants looking for a full-time position working 5 over 7 days, a total of 40 hours, per week. The job involves shared weekend working.
Purpose of the Role
Responsible for the day to day operational running of the Self-Storage facility, supervising a team of Customer Service Assistance within organisational policies, established procedures and core values in respect of employee management, customer service, quality and health and safety.
Key Accountabilities

Day to day operational Human Resources issues including, but not limited to: absence management, holiday rotas; monthly timesheets; recruitment and management time.
Deploy available resources efficiently to meet the demands within the operation in order to meet, or exceed customer service and financial performance objectives within agreed budgets and timescales.
Support the Head of Operations to implement operational initiatives in line with company targets and best practice.
Ensure all Company policies and employee communications are effectively conveyed to shift personnel and deal with issues raised, and where appropriate, refer concerns and suggestions to the Head of Operations.
Ensure all new sales enquiries are dealt with quickly and are consistently followed up to conclusion.
Promote sales of additional products to achieve company targets.
Manage, control and chase debt to ensure no customers is more than 60 days outstanding.
Supervise, support and motivate staff, assist in the identification of training needs.
Provide support to the Head of Operations in the CSA appraisal process.
Be the primary contact in the first instance in the event of customer dissatisfaction, ensuring steps are taken to prevent reoccurrence.
Ensure the facility is fully functional, safe and clean, taking corrective action where required. This includes being part of the cleaning Rota and all other manual tasked required to operate the store.
Assist customers with loading and unloading of small, medium and large items. This may include some fork lift truck work (full training will be provided)
Provide “Man and Van” service to assist customers with moving items.
Implement all policies and procedures designed to ensure the safety of employees, customers and visitors to the site and the security of their possessions.
Ensure all KPI’s are met and recorded efficiently and effectively in line with Company targets and Best Practice.
Maintain and develop both new and key client relationships.
Meeting with existing customers to build business and maximize sales and researching new areas where you can initiate, grow and improve sales.
Provide marketing support for the store and other Vanguard operations.
Create an awareness of future business potential to improve the sales of Vanguard.
May be required from time to time to support other Vanguard operations in London.

Knowledge, Skills and experience Required.

Previous supervisor experience
Proven ability to organise, manage and motivate staff.
Knowledge of Health and Safety and Fire procedures.
Excellent communication skills, motivated to contribute to the success of the operation through effective management.
Customer Focused attitude, continually seeking to make improvements.
Proactive thinker
A common sense, practical and hands on approach.
Sound knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications.
Clean Driving licence
Fork Lift truck desirable but not essential as training will be given.
First aid desirable but not essential as training will be given.
