We are a tennis academy that offers an education programme whereby children are taught GCSE subjects, on-site, in small groups. This enables highly talented young tennis players to combine full-time tennis training with their education.
We are now initiating the process of registering with the Department for Education to operate as an independent school.
We require an experienced administrator to help with the DfE registration process (initially) with a view to a permanent full- or part-time School Administrator position thereafter. Any prior experience specifically with independent school compliance would be extremely useful, although not critical. General school administration experience however would be a necessary pre-requisite.
The more of the following areas a candidate has experience with and/or skills for, the more suitable they would be for the role:
- School policies and information management.
- Student enrolment and maintenance of records.
- Student attendance
- Data protection
- Safeguarding and child protection
- Single Central Record for staff and DBS checking.
- First Aid and Health and Safety management including Fire Risk Assessments.
- Organising Parents meetings and other events.
- Liaising with parents by email, phone and social media.
- Online "help desk" / reception functions and handling email enquiries.
- Preparing for school inspections by Ofsted or other relevant inspectorate.
- Compiling end of year reports
Your availability must be flexible through to the completion of the registration process (estimate 6 months), after which a permanent position may be offered. A large proportion of this work may be home-based with flexible hours, although you should be within travelling distance of us in New Malden (Surrey) as and when required.
To apply, please email us your CV and a covering letter explaining your suitability for the role, experience and salary expectations. The deadline for applications is 31st March 2022, with interviews to be held in the first two weeks of April with an immediate start for the successful candidate.
