We are seeking to fill a position at a small independent and family owned retail food store in Harringay, North London.
- Sales Assistant (10-15 hours per week plus cover as required) - £9/hr.
Shop hours : We are open 7 days from 9am until 8 weekdays and Saturday, and 10-7 Sundays. Shifts vary and weekend availability is absolutely essential.

Harringay Local Store has been operating on Green Lanes N8 for just under 4 years. It is a family owned business and we focus on products that we love. We stock a wide range of lines ranging from Wine, Spirits and Beers to Organic meats, Vegan and Vegetarian foods, Sourdough and other artisan breads, locally produced pantry goods and we also sell a selection of Vinyl records. We hand pick every item that we have in store and deal one to one with nearly all our suppliers. We are constantly changing our lines and have new products on the shelves often. The store has a strong community focus and most of our regular customers are young families. We promote food items that aren't generally available in the major chain supermarkets and we're all about food you can trust.
We're looking for a reliable person to join our team. All the usual qualities such as a positive outlook towards work and a outgoing personality are a must, but we really want people on our team who want to feel like they're part of our family. We need people who can also make our customers feel like that too. The successful candidate will have a strong focus on customer service, be punctual, reliable and hard working. Computer skills are important and previous experience in all aspects of retail is preferable but not essential. The role involves replenishing stock, merchandising shelves, general cleaning and tidying up, accepting deliveries, cashing up and stock rotation. Attention to detail is highly important.
