Our client is seeking a Russian speaking SEN teacher to work with their 13 year old son(I) with Speech and language delays, difficulties in social communication, sensory processing issues, as well as negative experiences at school which have hurt his self confidence.
There are a few options currently being explored for the boy. One is full time home schooling with the exception of attending a few classes in his mainstream school such as music, PE, and other easily accessible classes for him.
This would happen in his home town which is a busy international town home to a large university so many options to meet students both English and Russian speaking.
Another option is for I to attend an international school in Kiev and have the teacher go to school with him adapting lessons as needed.
We are talking to different international schools to try and secure a place for him. If this is not possible the homeschooling route will be how he will be taught.
He recently was assessed by an educational psychologist in London who reports that he will benefit from visual supports and time tables, as well as a routine based school day.
The role includes some travel with the family to their country home, as well as other locations in Europe and further afield. All travel and visas covered, flat included.
Candidates shall:
• Have experience working with adolescents with special needs, especially speech and language disorders.
• Have experience using visual supports
• Be flexible in their teaching approach
• Fluent Russian speaker
• Able to move to Ukraine as soon as possible
• Able to teach maths (at a primary level), Russian reading and writing, work on comprehension skills, geography, as well as teach social skills
• Able to start in the next 6-8 weeks and ideally stay for at least 1 school year, ideally more.
• Clear DBS
• Checkable references
as soon as possible interviews send CV and covering letter.
Salary £40,000 + depending on experience and training.
We can offer a referral fee of £500 for referring someone directly to us who then stays in this role for at least 3 months.
