James Taylor and Son is one of the longest established bespoke shoemakers in London and has an unrivalled reputation for high quality made-to-measure footwear for both men and women. We use a combination of leading-edge technology and traditional hand-making skills to produce perfectly fitting, beautifully made shoes and boots. We employ a small, skilled and enthusiastic team of shoemakers and offer a friendly and supportive working environment.
THE ROLE
In addition to our traditional bespoke service we are about to launch an extensive range of high quality, ready-made shoes. This has created a need for an experienced and enthusiastic Retail Manager to handle the day-to-day running of our flagship store in Marylebone.
We are looking for someone who has outstanding skills in customer service, the ability to handle a range of responsibilities associated with a busy retail outlet, and a genuine enthusiasm for the footwear industry.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Working with the Managing Director to drive sales on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
- Delivering excellent customer service consistent with a high-level luxury brand for our ready-made and bespoke shoes
- Keeping our store standards at the highest standard, including high quality merchandising
- Providing regular management reports and ensuring the smooth running of our store
ABOUT YOU:
You will need to be passionate about customer service and you will have proven experience in a high value retail environment. You will have a good understanding of standard PC applications such as Excel and an excellent level of English, both spoken and written. You will have knowledge of stock control, merchandising and other aspects of running a successful retail store. Ideally you will also have some knowledge of footwear.
Your salary will be dependent on experience, circa £23-£25K per annum for a 5 day week.
