About the Company:
Ty Connections is an established Family Assessment Centre in LB of Barnet, providing evidence based residential and community parenting assessments. We are a safeguarding organisation and in all of our work the needs of the child and safeguarding are paramount.
We have an enthusiastic multi-disciplinary team and we are looking for additional Family Assessment Support Workers to join our organisation. We are currently looking for experienced family assessment support workers (FASW) for various hours, including weekends, nights and flexible part time and bank hours.
We offer competitive rates of pay and, along with peer support and the opportunity to work as part of a team, you will receive supervision and excellent training organised by our experienced Assessment Team to develop and build upon your existing skills.
Ty Connections operates regular shifts each day to ensure 24 hour coverage, 7 days per week. You will be flexible to meet the demands of the service.

Full time hours available and bank positions.
Pay: £9.00 - £12.50 per hour
Location: LB of Barnet

About the Role:
The role of the Family Assessment Support Worker remains focused on the needs of the child always and is aware that the needs of the child and safeguarding are paramount.
You will be working directly with families with complex needs, undertaking supported assessments both at the centres and in the community.
Ty Connections operates regular shifts each day to ensure 24-hour coverage, 7 days per week. You will be flexible to meet the demands of the service.
The main duties and responsibilities of Family Assessment Support Workers include:

Safeguarding, caring for and supporting children and parents when the parents might be experiencing difficulties for a variety of reasons.
Helping parents to enhance their parenting skills by encouraging, teaching, modelling and supporting parents in many specific parenting tasks as recommended by the Assessment Team at Ty Connections.
Assessing the level and type of support that is required by a parent or child at any time and ensuring that the appropriate level of monitoring is provided for each family, in line with their placement plan.
Working collaboratively with the wider assessment team, seeking further information, advice or support when necessary.
Recording: Accurate and objective information about the functioning and behaviour of both the children and their parents.
The day to day experience of the child Information about developing physical and emotional skills in respect of the child and their parents.
Any feedback given to families.
Recording and reporting significant information, conversations or event.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children and young people.
They will be available to work evenings and weekends.
They will have experience of working with families and children and will hold a relevant qualification.
They must be able to communicate sensitively and effectively with children and adults, including those who may be initially hostile. A full job description and person specification will be sent to all applicants.

Required experience:

Children and Vulnerable Adult Support: 1 year.
Support Environment: 1 year

Required Qualification:

Hold a professional qualification such QCF Level 3 in Children and Young People's Workforce and or a social work degree or working towards, and HCPC registration.
