Peabody has an exciting opportunity for a Resettlement Team Leader - Hackney Hospital discharge Hostel to join the team based in Hackney. You will be there on a full time, permanent basis, and you will receive a competitive salary of £31,060 per annum.
Peabody are running an innovative 12 month pilot scheme in conjunction with the Royal London Hospital to provide a short stay medical discharge hostel to reduce  discharge times for medically optimised patients. The Service will work with customers who may be homeless, are asylum seekers or have no recourse to public funds or housing and may have a disability and be vulnerable. The service is provided in a newly refurbished shared house in the Stoke Newington area with Resettlement officers providing cover on a Rota basis 8am-9pm with an additional concierge provided during the night.
The Resettlement Team Leader role:
The post will manage 3.4 Resettlement Officers and work in liaison with the Head of Service. The purpose of the post is to ensure that customers can be discharged safely from hospital to the community.  Customers may be homeless, asylum seekers, fleeing Domestic violence or gangs, need support with substance misuse or may have no recourse to housing or public funds. Customers referred will be provided with high quality tenancy Housing Management services.
Key Responsibilities of our Resettlement Team Leader:
- Enable Customers to maximize their independence and ensure the sustainment of their occupancy through proactive development and coaching of staff.
- Responding flexibly to the varying needs of a vulnerable client group.
- Ensure the staff team provide advice and assistance on occupancy to Customers, including assistance to set up benefit claims and move into their property.
- Welcoming new customers to the scheme, signing them up on the relevant occupancy agreement, introducing them to the services and facilities, and all relevant house rules and regulations relating to their accommodation and all common parts and communal facilities.
experience require of our Resettlement Team Leader:
- Effective team working and ability to communicate with customers, staff and external stakeholders including promoting the service.
- Effective Report writing and IT literacy.
- Knowledge and experience of Safeguarding.
- Knowledge of equality, diversity and inclusion for this client group and ability to be able to challenge discrimination and stigma where necessary.
- experience of leading, managing and motivating a staff team.
