As our Reinsurance Manager you will manage the Vitality Life Reinsurance team and ensure delivery of the key tasks. You will also be responsible for the financial management of Vitality Life’s reinsurance arrangements.
Responsibilities as our Reinsurance Manager include:
- Responsible for the accuracy of reinsurance calculations in the reinsurance system and accounts.
- Manage the relationship with Vitality Life’s key reinsurance partners.
- Provision of internal MI and reporting on Vitality Life’s reinsurance arrangements.
- Overseeing any reinsurance tender activity to ensure Vitality Life obtains the optimum reinsurance agreements.
- Ensure that all contractual financial elements of reinsurance agreements are adhered to.
- Ensure that reinsurance arrangements are appropriately implemented and adhered to.
- Ensure a robust control environment for reinsurance.
- Continually seek to drive improvements across the reinsurance team.
- Manage individual team member performance through the setting of challenging objectives and driving achievement of these objectives throughout the year.
- Support team members in their development and ensure that they are being talent managed to maximize their opportunities within the team and Vitality Life.
To become our Reinsurance Manager, you will have the below skills and experience:
Essential
- Qualified Actuary, FIA or equivalent
- Highly numerate, with the ability to process financial data quickly and with a strong attention to detail.
- Track record of exceeding business objectives.
- Excellent communication skills, driven, high energy, with a team focus.
- Knowledge of the UK protection market
- Knowledge of the various reinsurance structures, including Risk and Financing treaties.
Desirable
- Knowledge of Prophet
- experience of leading projects
- experience of reinsurance negotiations
- experience in implementing new reinsurance arrangements.
