Be part of a busy Human Resources team
Position: Recruitment Assistant
Location: London, UK
6 month Fixed Term Contract
The role:
As a business we always need to recruit new people, and we are looking for additional help to make this happen as quickly and efficiently as possible. We’re busy and there is no sign of it letting up. So if sitting twiddling your fingers is your thing, please don’t apply.
Just like it says on the tin, you will be responsible for recruitment administration for our Group Functions, London Market and Reinsurance businesses. On a daily basis you will be responsible for ensuring a smooth candidate experience and happy hiring managers. Every week you will be arranging interviews, booking rooms and advertising our vacancies. Getting things done in this role means being super organised as you will be managing approximately 30 vacancies and 900 candidates.
Candidate experience is one of our KPI’s and you’ll be instrumental in ensuring that our candidates leave with a positive view of Hiscox regardless of the outcome. You’ll have to care about the candidate experience and not be bothered having to chase managers for feedback on candidates and CV’s.
To succeed in this role, you’ll need to bring enthusiasm and energy to everything you do. You’ll be happy getting on with day-to-day activities but you’ll also bring new ideas to the table. We’re always looking for better ways to do things and you will be too.
The Team:
The London Human Resources team is a team of 12 Human Resources Professionals, ranging from reward experts, recruitment specialist and generalists. We are a friendly, supportive bunch and while we enjoy a chat the office can be quiet at times.
What you’ll be doing as Recruitment Assistant:
• Arranging interviews, face-to-face, pre-recorded or by telephone
• Drafting contracts of employment
• Sending psychometric tests to candidates (SHL, Watson Glaser Critical Thinking Test, OPQ)
• Communicating with agencies, candidates, hiring managers and your Human Resources colleagues
• Managing the candidate experience through our applicant tracking system (we use Peoplefluent)
• Arranging and conducting new starter inductions and work closely with our Central Human Resources team to ensure the smooth on-boarding of new employees.
• Provide interview and test feedback to candidates over the phone
Our must-haves:
• Recruitment administration experience
• Organisational skills. There’s always more to do than time to do it and we have very high standards.
• Brilliant communications skills with the confidence to build relationships at all levels, and to ask the right questions so you can get your job done
• The ability to work independently and to collaborate with wider team members across Human Resources and the Business Units you support
• Ability to deal with ambiguity. It would be great if we had perfect information to work with all the time, but we don’t, so you’ll need to be comfortable managing this.
• And perhaps most importantly - sound judgement - and the ability to work on your own and use initiative when required
About Hiscox
As an international specialist insurer we are far removed from the world of mass market insurance products. Instead we are selective and focus on our key areas of expertise and strength - all of which is underpinned by a culture that encourages us to challenge convention and always look for a better way of doing things.
We insure the unique and the interesting. And we search for the same when it comes to talented people. Hiscox is full of smart, reliable human beings that look out for customers and each other. We believe in doing the right thing, making good and rebuilding when things go wrong. Everyone is encouraged to think creatively, challenge the status quo and look for solutions.
Scratch beneath the surface and you will find a business that is solid, but slightly contrary. We like to do things differently and constantly seek to evolve. We might have been around for a long time (our roots go back to 1901), but we are young in many ways, ambitious and going places.
Some people might say insurance is dull, but life at Hiscox is anything but. If that sounds good to you, get in touch.
