POST TITLE: QCF Apprenticeship Tutor / Assessor
RESPONSIBLE TO: The Centre Co-coordinator and IQA
JOB PURPOSE:
Carry out induction, support and assessment of candidates ensuring timely completion of the individual learning plan that meets the quality requirements of the awarding body, SFA and other funding bodies.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Carry out learner inductions; this includes comprehensive completion of skills scans, Individual learning plans, initial assessments to establish the correct level and programme of study
2. Timely completion of assessment and SFA documentation to meet Awarding Body, SFA and organisational requirements.
3. Assess designated QCF Diploma / Apprenticeship candidates for all the qualifications the assessor is occupationally competent in, including Basic and Functional skills qualifications.
4. Manage a caseload of candidates as agreed with the Line Manager / IQA to carry out regular learner visits where evidence of progression on the award to be evidenced at a minimum of every 28 days.
5. Recommend training and development needed by candidates to achieve their qualifications.
6. Assessment of candidates to take place in accordance with sector and awarding body guidelines
7. Timely completion of progress reviews and guidance points
8. Submit portfolios in a timely manner for interim and summative verification and work with of the IQA to ensure the quality of the award is maintained
9. Liaise proactively with employers and actively source leads as directed
10. Meet as a minimum the KPI agreed at performance reviews
11. Undertake appropriate learning and development activities as required for the job role and maintain a record of all CPD
12. Accurate maintenance of learner records ensuring confidentiality of sensitive information is maintained
13. Timely submission of learner records as directed by internal requirements
14. Carry out general administrative tasks as required for audit purposes
15. Attend monthly team meetings with the Line Manager where you will be required to report on learner progress and identify any ‘at risk’ candidates/sites
16. To contribute to assessor standardisation meetings.
17. Communicate with the Apprenticeship Manager on any leads, learner or employer Matters
18. To ensure compliance with Liral Veget Equality and Diversity, Health and Safety and all other relevant policies, procedures and legislation.
19. To ensure compliance with the Safeguarding of Vulnerable Children and Adults policy.
Knowledge, experience and Skills required
Knowledge of the sector and requirements of the listed apprenticeship frameworks. Post holder must hold a D32/33 or A1 award.
Teaching qualification and a verifier award is desirable.
experience and appropriate qualifications at level 5 to assess and teach the following framework:
• Management
experience and appropriate qualifications at level 3 to assess and teach the following framework:
• Health and Social Care
• Business Administration
• Customer Service
• Team Leading
It would be desirable for the post holder to hold a Level 5 qualification in order to teach and assess level 5 provisions.
General
1. To work within the context of all Liral Veget’s policies and procedures.

7. To undertake any other duties which are consistent with the post as advised by the centre co-coordinator.
8. To attend regular supervision sessions with the centre Co-coordinator.
9. To attend a regular staff appraisal and development meeting with the centre Co-coordinator.
10. To undertake appropriate training as agreed with the centre Co-coordinator.
11. To work in any other Liral Veget location when required.
