Our client is seeking support for David who is 10 years old. David is an energetic boy who loves swimming, horse riding, sensory play, going out and about – especially to train stations when he’s allowed (he would spend every day there given the choice!). David has cerebral palsy and epilepsy. He is extremely mobile, and you’ll need to be quick and vigilant; David can bolt and has no sense of road safety. David is verbal and eats soft food orally with support.
You’ll provide direct care, engage with David within the home and take him out and about to various activities within the community; sometime alone and sometimes with another support worker. David receives a number of therapies including Occupational and Physiotherapy. These therapies can be incorporated into his day in a fun way to help build his self-help and independence skills and reach his rehabilitation goals. Ensuring David’s safety at all times will be paramount. The position is on alternate weekends but if you are also available for occasional Sleeping Nights, this will be ideal (Paid at minimum wage).
If you would like support David, please send your CV and a brief supporting statement that includes an overview of your relevant experience, your start date / notice period and why this job is of interest to you. We’ll then forward your application for our client’s consideration.
Please note, whilst Snap endeavour to reply to all applications, some of our positions are so popular this is not possible and only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
