Purchasing and Logistics Manager - The Ned, London How The Ned Happened Taking over the City’s disused Midland Bank Building, Soho House and Co. And New York’s Sydell Group have collaborated to restore the beautiful Grade I listed building. We’re building a great team, and everyone will have the opportunity to learn and grow their skills.The Role The role is to assist the Purchasing department by organising the delivery, receiving, storage, and distribution of goods. Logistics Manager directs and works with managers and employees to carry out procedures ensuring an efficient arrival and departure process for all vehicles. In this role, you will ensure that the right products are delivered to the right location on time and at a good cost. You may also be involved in transportation, stock control, warehousing and monitoring the flow of goods. What are We are looking for:• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills (verbal, listening, writing).• Able to operate diplomacy.• Able to work alone and within a team.• Exceptional customer service skills.• To consistently deliver the very highest of standards to ensure the department and hotel is represented accordingly.• Must have the ability to lead, multi-task, and make sound decisions in fast-paced environment.• Have strong organisational and administration skills with close attention to detail.• IT skills including experience of using a purchasing system such as Adeco, and a transportation booking system. Main responsibilities:• Manage and maintain the logistics of all goods inward on site, both physically and electronically.• Undertake baseline surveys once the development is occupied and in operation to establish the vehicles making deliveries and collections and the types of good delivered.• Plan vehicle routes during ad-hoc requirements from suppliers.• Use associated information systems to coordinate and control the order cycle.• Use data from IT systems to evaluate performance and quality and to plan improvements.• Allocate and manage staff resources according to changing needs.• Continually try to improve and develop business performance within the constraints of legislation, fuel costs and rising environmental pressures• Keep well informed of London events, or any holidays that may affect the delivery schedule.• Maintain records of goods ordered and received.• Manage and assist in the preparation and processing of requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment.• Review supplier performance on delivery target times, and specification.
