We are looking for someone who has probably just qualified in a relevant area, and who is looking to gain valuable work experience in the publishing field. InDesign skills are essential, meaning the ability to produce work in InDesign without further training or supervision, along with general digital skills and organisational skills. This is really an opportunity for a recent graduate or someone with the right digital skills to get into publishing. You will work on a book through to completion and will be involved in design, lay-out, marketing, promotion, printing commissioning and potential sales events. In this process you will learn how publishing works and acquire the necessary skills to graduate to full-time employment in the industry. We are a small publisher with some interesting projects in the pipeline and this is also a potential entrepreneurial situation for someone with marketing skills and the right flair. We are distributed nationally and in Europe and have been publishing for 12 years. For the right adaptable person this is an opportunity to learn the business and to develop experiential skills. Immediate start possible and must be able to work under their own steam and have access to computing, rewards can be discussed but could be incremental.
