Job Description
We are an expanding general practice based in Ealing, West London serving a varied portfolio of owner managed businesses. We are now looking for a conscientious candidate with integrity and credibility to join our team as an associate accountant. You will have good technical accounting knowledge including VAT and Corporation Tax, strong experience of accounts preparation and the capacity to maintain accounting records to a high standard. The role will require you to work on clients from small limited companies to businesses with turnovers up to the audit threshold.
Roles and Responsibilities include:
- Maintaining clients bookkeeping records to required standards
- Preparation of quarterly VAT returns
- Preparation of statutory financial statements for limited companies
- Preparation of partnerships and sole traders accounts
- Preparation of personal, corporation and partnership tax returns
- Company secretarial work and filing of PSC confirmation statements
- Processing clients’ payroll on a monthly basis
- Liaising with clients and HMRC
- Dealing with company secretarial work and filing annual returns
Person Specification
- Holding or working towards AAT / ACCA qualification
- Sound UK public practice experience (minimum 2 years)
- Good knowledge of accounting standards and tax
- Competent user of Microsoft Office; knowledge of VT Transaction +, Tax Calc and Moneysoft Payroll Manager would be an advantage
- Good command of English and confident communication skills (both orally and in writing)
- Reliable individual with common sense approach and own initiative
- Pays attention to detail with high level of accuracy
- Energetic yet flexible, open minded and easy going
- Able to project a professional and credible image and maintain confidentiality
- Able to plan and organise workload in advance with priorities to optimise own contribution
- Able to work under pressure of deadlines and cost budgets and be prepared to work as needed during busy periods
Salary range £22,000 to £30,000
