We are a new and rapidly expanding funky, dynamic, fast-paced, fun loving and ever changing youth work charity in East London, with some amazing and exciting volunteer opportunities for people with bags of energy and enthusiasm and a willingness to help make Eastside Youth the best youth work charity in the world.
Youth Work Changes Lives and at Eastside Youth this is our mantra, and we aim to facilitate that change by giving young people aged 11 to 25 years old based in East London the tools and skills to lead active and independent lives by providing interactive and engaging structured youth activities, training opportunities and support that will help improve their physical, mental, emotional, social and educational well-being.
We have a huge passion for young people and helping to improve their lives and have setup our charity in response to the massive and severe funding cuts to youth services and closures of youth projects across East London, leaving young people with a lack of positive things to do and feeling isolated alone and having nowhere else to turn in a time where young people already feel segregated from society with no real voice.
We are looking for a volunteer to join our team as our Project Manager (with a Project Management Qualification) for a few hours per week flexible including during the evenings and weekends to help us make our youth work charity a success by leading on particular projects to ensure our continued growth, development and success from leading on the project management of new services, project managing our move to our first office, to leading on a project that develops a outcome measurement tool to track and evidence our impact.
This volunteer position would really suit an experienced Project Manager with a Project Management Qualification that wants to give their skills and experience to a new charity that will make a positive impact in the lives of young people.
Who We Are Looking For?:
• Positive, quick thinking and solution focused.
• Self-motivated, organised and hands on.
• Approachable, professional and friendly with excellent communication and presentation skills, able to engage with people on different levels.
• Great people management and leadership skills and qualities.
• Previous experience of project management, ideally within a charity or youth work setting is desirable but not essential, or relevant transferable skills suited for the role.
• A qualification in project management.
• Ability to motivate, inspire and gain trust of both young people and team members, as well as key stakeholders.
