Production Manager is required for Sunbeam Metal Works in North Acton, London.
About Sunbeam Metal Works:
We have provided specialist metalwork services since 1996.
We specialise in high quality decorative and architectural metalwork for bespoke shopfitting, exhibitions and interior projects
Main responsibilities will include:
-Manage production activities on a daily basis
-Attend weekly production meeting with projects director and all management staff to provide update of all jobs / delivery schedules etc.
-Attend monthly Health and Safety committee meetings
-Carry out fortnightly Tool Box Talks to health and safety matters in the workplace
-Assign jobs to workshop labour and insure a clear understanding of requirements is passed on.
-Assist with on going training and development of staff, undertake training and inductions for production staff on new machinery
-Ensure works are completed within set timescales and delivery dates are met.
-Ensure time sheets are accurately completed, collected weekly and signed off.
-Quality management, ensuring manufactured items are produced within the specification and to an expected quality level
-Direct communication / meetings with clients to resolve specific queries and details
-Continuously identify and forward ideas that will improve efficiencies.
-Undertake interviews for production staff candidates.
-Estimating small works / additional project costs
-Sending enquiries and placing orders with suppliers
The ideal candidate should have the following skills and experience for this position:
-In depth knowledge of metal working machinery
-Knowledge of production processes
-AutoCAD and setting out experience preferred
-Strong planning and logistical skills
-Good communication skills – written emails and verbal communication
-Good leadership skills and motivator of staff
-Broad understanding of Health and Safety and systems for implementation
