As the Procurement Assistant, you will be managing numerous suppliers and contractors on a daily basis sourcing materials and equipment, and you will be responsible for the procurement, ordering, scheduling, payment and delivery of such items in a timely manner to specific MDC's and deadlines as set out in the procurement schedule and work schedules.
The Procurement Assistant will be tasked with supporting procurement activities across various department within the business to ensure quality supply in line with commercial expectations and strategy.
Recording minutes of meetings and ensuring timely distribution to required parties
Ensure that all activities are carried out with full regard to regulatory expectations, statutory regulations, company and location directives, procedures and safety rules.
Maintenance of a structured and secure electronic and physical filing system
Skills/Requirements:-
•Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships at all levels, with first class communication skills
•Proven administration skills including key IT software capabilities (i.e. Word, Outlook, Excel)
•Ability to work to challenging deadlines and experience of delivering to business requirements
•Working knowledge of procurement processes in a relevant industry
•Demonstrable time management and planning skills
•A minimum of one years' experience working in a similar role in a relevant industry
•Demonstrate relevant knowledge and understanding
•Desire to develop within a growing organisation
Essential Criteria:
•Educated to degree level or equivalent
•experience in Accounts or Procurement
•Proficient in Excel, QuickBooks and SAP
•Results driven with commercial awareness
•Excellent communication skills.
