Maintains a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service. Supports the Team Leader / Associate Team Leader and Regional Coordinator in maintaining regional standards. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, chopping and preparing ingredients for the department and maintaining the quality and merchandising standards throughout the day, whilst maintaining great customer service.
Duties and responsibilities
Achieve or exceed sales and margin objectives of the department.
Chops, prepares, cook, and/or reheat, dress, season and garnish dishes for the food bars, soup bar, chefs case, and multi deck chillers. Monitors and maintains the items in the department.
Ensures a fresh and appealing repertoire by rotating products, and removing out-of-date products, maintaining full levels of all products in the department.
Maintains correct department signage and pricing.
Answers customer questions.
Follows and complies with all applicable health and sanitation procedures and adheres to safe work practices. Help to ensure total compliance with EHO guidelines regarding labelling, signage, and logs.
Operates and sanitizes all Prepared Foods equipment in a safe and proper manner.
Answers department telephone calls and pages quickly and with excellent phone etiquette.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Prepared Foods Team Leader, Associate Team Leader, or Supervisor.
Intellectual requirements
Ability to follow instructions and established procedures.
Knowledgeably communicate the product line to the customer.
Ability to understand customers’ needs.
Ability to perform simple mathematical operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with other Team Members and leadership.
Ability to understand and complete departmental transfers.
Physical requirements
Work up to a maximum of 8-10 hours per day.
Stand and walk for extended periods of time up to 4 hours without a break.
Bend, twist and stoop to grasp objects and climb ladders.
Bend and lift loads, acceptable for the requirements of the position, unassisted.
Push and pull trolleys, acceptable for the requirements of the position, unassisted.
Operate all department equipment.
Visually examine reports both on paper and on computer screens.
Effectively communicate with other leadership and Team Members.
Demonstrates proficiency in the proper use of a baler, dumpster, box cutters, and all related equipment.
Work Environment
Environmental exposure: temperature extremes (coolers, freezer, outdoors, Kitchens)
Work in a moderately noisy environment.
Work on a variety of floor surfaces including tile and concrete.
Other requirements
Able to work a variety of shifts including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Willingness to receive constructive feedback pertaining to job performance.
