The role of Philanthropy Manager Since 1988, Children with Cancer UK has raised over £220 million, £125 million in the last 10 years, to support research into the causes and treatment of childhood cancers, and to provide better facilities for caring for children and their families. It's 30th anniversary will see an ambitious step change in its fundraising, to significantly increase its investment in new research and forms of care.In order to achieve this, Children with Cancer UK will develop and launch new initiatives to attract greater support from charitable trusts and foundations and major individual donors.The new post of Philanthropy Manager will play a central role in these initiatives.Our ideal Philanthropy Manager will be intelligent, flexible, dynamic and ambitious and focused on results. We are not looking necessarily for specific fundraising skills (although they would be very welcome if relevant), but someone who can get the job done.We are looking for a Philanthropy Manager with a focus on achieving results; excellent research skills; a flexible approach to inter-personal relationships; good team working skills; high quality writing and verbal skills; and, a meticulous approach to planning.  We welcome applications from candidates seeking a strategic role as the next step in their career. Key Duties and Responsibilities Fundraising Management and Implementation: 70%
To develop and manage the Trust and Foundations fundraising programme for Children with Cancer UK, including:
Prospect identification and prioritisation – pipeline development. writing and submitting compelling funding applications – general and project-focused. monitoring outcomes, follow-up and reporting. cultivation and long-term relationship development
