PCV and Non PCV drivers for SEND Travel Assistance Service (TAS)
•    Supplied drivers to have a valid DBS police check.
•    Supplied drivers to be “suitably attired” and carry photographic identification.
•    Supplied drivers to have good English.
Licences:
•    Must hold a full UK drivers licence with no more than six (6) points, and the correct entitlement category for the purpose that they are hired. (D or D1 category)
•    Supplied drivers must produce their driving licence for verification of entitlement.  Please note photocopies are NOT accepted.
•    PCV drivers must have a driver CPC (certificate of professional competence) qualification.
Tachographs:
•    PCV licenced drivers are fully competent in the use of analogue and digital tachographs.
•    Drivers are aware of and understand the appropriate rules and regulations applying to EU or GB Domestic driver’s hours and rest periods, the recording of such times, and the Road Transport (Working Time) Regulations as they apply to them.
•    Drivers are not supplied to TAS if known that they will exceed these permitted hours.
•    Drivers supplied to drive minibuses or vehicles over 3.5t gross weight, hold, and have available, a Digital Tachograph Card before being sent to TAS.
•    Drivers supplied understand that at the end of the current working day/week they must produce their Digital Tachograph Card for download.
Desirable Requirements:
•    experience of passenger transport particularly school transport.
•    experience of wheelchair restraint equipment.
•    experience of the road network within the borough of Hackney.
•    Good customer service skills
•    Live locally or within or neighbouring borough of Hackney.
Please do not provide drivers that do not meet the essential criteria without consulting with the TAS office staff.
