Patisserie Chef Required in London

Role and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Lead Patisserie Chef, responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
·To help produce a range of fine patisserie for our retail and wholesale outlets to a consistent, and high standard to those specified by the Head Patisserie Chef.
·To operate in a clean, tidy and organised environment.
·To maintain all work areas, utensils and equipment, ensuring HACCAP and food safety standards are adhered to at all times.
·To be flexible in line with the needs of the business, working hours may vary week on week.
·To be able to work effectively within the department during the absence of the Lead Patisserie Chef.
·To comply with health and safety policies and procedures set out by the company.
Qualifications and Education Requirements.
·NVQ’s in food safety, Food Hygiene certificates, GCSE’s (or equivalent), Proven past experience.
·Portfolio of proven past work is advised to support any application.
·Ability to work well and remain calm under pressure in a fast paced environment, working to tight deadlines and ensuring the quality remains of a high standard, paying particular attention to detail, and following recipes and methods set out by the Lead Chef.
·Show a willingness to understand broader subjects such as Chocolate techniques and baked goods.
Preferred Skills
The preferred individual will have a passion for and knowledge of Luxury Chocolate and Patisserie industry. They will also have the ability to multitask and work efficiently, unsupervised, and manage and keep track of workload, whilst adhering to sometimes short deadlines. The individual will also possess a proactive attitude and be effective in communication within a small team. Maintaining stock levels in the absence of the Lead chef is also a desired skill set whilst adhering to annual/monthly budgets. The ability to work flexibly and efficiently whilst maintaining a consistently high standard of quality of work will also form a basis to the role. Previous experience in a professional pastry or chocolate kitchen is essential.
