What’s the job?
Paul Rhodes Bakery is one of London’s leading independent artisan wholesale bakeries, and we are looking for a skilled Pastry / Viennoiserie Assistant to join our growing team. The successful person will form an integral part of the Pastry department, working together to create high quality products for our wide-ranging customer base, which includes top restaurants and hotels, independent cafes and delis, and major sporting and entertainment venues.
The main purpose of this role is to produce bread / viennoserie products to meet customer orders, complying with all standard operational requirements and minimizing wastage.
Who are We are looking for?
Here is an overview of what we’re looking for in the successful candidate:
· Have a minimum of 1 years’ experience in a food industry.
· Be able to work to a high standard with skills in shaping, mixing and ovens.
· Have good organisational skills.
· Be a team player
· Have a can do attitude
· Be punctual and hard-working
· Be willing to learn
· Be able to communicate effectively in English.
In line with the core values of our business, we are also looking for people who are reliable, enthusiastic, passionate about their work, and committed to delivering the very best for our customers.
Hours of work are 45 per week (including breaks) working 5 days out of 7 on a Rota basis including weekends and bank holidays.
Where are we?
The bakery is based close to the River Thames in Greenwich, South East London, and is readily accessible via North Greenwich (Jubilee line), Cutty Sark (DLR) and Maze Hill (Southeastern mainline) stations, as well as various bus routes.

Paul Rhodes Bakery was founded in 2003 by former Michelin-starred chef Paul Rhodes (who still works on site) and has grown to become one of London’s leading independent bakeries. We specialise in creating handcrafted breads, pastries and cakes, all made using the finest ingredients and traditional techniques, and delivering them fresh to our customers all over London seven days a week. Our business is growing all the time but still retains the warm and friendly feel of a family run company.
