VOLUNTEERS WANTED! Wake Up Gigs brings live music to parents, because parents are people too. We are looking for dedicated, motivated, and driven volunteers in London who are as passionate about music as we are who feel comfortable taking initiative and working independently. Volunteers will be expected to be comfortable to work amongst young babies and children and will need to arrange to have a valid and current DBS check.
Volunteers should be prepared to dedicate 4 hours on a Sunday afternoon to support our shows. For the right volunteer, some roles may require heavier involvement closer to the show itself. The main role includes:
Technical assistant
- assisting bands and sound engineer with load in and set up
- welcoming parents and children
- running merch stand and buggy storage
- stocking facilities as required
- assisting with entertainment for babies and children
Additional resources needed for audio, photo, video, and graphic design, and general show support.
We are also looking for support with the following roles, ideally for a volunteer who can offer 2 hours per week working from their location:
Artist Booker:
- Assist leader Booker w/:
- Seeking and Booking acts for the shows
- Communication to bands
- Curation of the Evening to ensure diversity, quality, and maximum engagement
- Management of Contracts (Releases/Label Requests/etc…)
- Retrieve/Create input lists to send to audio engineer
- Option to retrieve setlist, video suggestions before hand to video crew with top 2 songs to film.
- Communicates any special requests
Marketing / PR:
- Local Social media content creation and management (Facebook/Twitter/Etc…)
- Study/Creation of strategy (Post Frequency, when to post, who we are posting to, etc…)
- Creation of press releases
- Shopping press releases to multi media outlets
- Creation and updating local press packages and language
- Creating press outreach strategy (targeted outreach)
We can offer lunch, reasonable travel expenses (zones 1-6 in London only) as well as references. We hope to hear from you!
