Role: Pass Master/ Expeditor (Known as a 'Pass Master ' in our venue.)
Hourly Rate: £11.00 per hour
Location: The Lighterman, Granary Square.
The expeditor is responsible for ensuring food is delivered properly and efficiently from the kitchen to the customer. This is done using clear and concise communication with both the kitchen, via a radio ear-piece and the manager running the floor.
Key Accountabilities:
• Set up of the Kitchen Pass areas before service and close-down after service
• Organising all food checks printed in the pass area and manage the timings
• Operate all 3 lifts effectively to get food delivered to the tables as quickly as possible
• Check all food orders when they come out of the lifts to ensure the orders and tables are complete
• Communicate any amendments or changes with specific orders with the kitchen team
• Strong organisational skills to be able to manage all orders and food
• Ability to communication efficiently, clearly and concisely
• Understand the order of service and requirement of each dish
• To follow appropriate checklist to ensure waiter and back of house areas are set up correctly
• To follow management directions
• Be able to work effectively as part of a team
• Ensure H and S procedures are carefully followed at all times
• To be aware of our sustainable commitments and where possible make contributions towards a Greener working environment
• To ensure that you attend all team meetings
The Lighterman
The Lighterman, is on Granary Square, King’s Cross. Spanning the entire eastern side of the square, the brand new standalone building is the second venue from Open House. It offers all-day drinking and dining across three floors, with outside seating overlooking both Regent’s Canal and Granary Square.
