Seasonal Park Ranger - Hampton Court Palace
We have a vacancy for a full time Seasonal Park Ranger, based at Hampton Court Palace, for up to 7 months.
As a Park Ranger your role will be to help provide a safe and secure environment for all park and Garden users by being visible with mobile or foot patrols in the gardens and estate. This may involve lone working and some patrols after dark. Key responsibilities will include providing information and assistance to our customers, targeting and reducing anti-social behaviour, breaches of park regulations, checking for fishing permits and assisting with maintenance tasks such as repairing fences and checking signage.
In addition you will be watching out for health and safety hazards and potential dangers for garden and estate users and help with the protection and monitoring of wildlife. You will also assist other teams during functions and events to ensure that activities are controlled and as safe as possible.
Working on a roster basis which will mainly consist of Monday to Friday 10am to 6 pm. Some weekend working will be required and also occasional early morning starts (6 am) and night time patrols (4 pm start)
You will need to be a confident and assertive individual who will relish the challenge of working as part of a busy and professional team who are highly committed to customer care.
Applicants will need to demonstrate proven customer service skills and be able to communicate effectively at all levels internally, with members of the public and with external organisations. A clean driving license is essential.
Pay range: 12 £9.50 per hour
