Parenting Support Practitioner £16-18ph (London)Corus Consultancy are looking for motivated and qualified Parenting Support Practitioner for our client in East London. This is an ongoing contract position with an immediate start. What you will do Your primary aim would be to mitigate children and young people entering the care system. You will work with families in their homes or other settings, offering practical help to enable families to help themselves and supporting adults in their role as parents/carers.To provide practical hands-on assistance in times of need, for example by helping with household tasks, escorting children and assisting with making and attending appointments.To work flexible hours based on families' needs over a seven day week (including weekends) and to take a flexible, task centred and hands-on approach to the full range of tasks that families may need help with. Skills, ability and experience 1 experience of direct work with children and/or families, and the ability to undertake direct work independently and in a range of settings. 2 Able to provide practical help to families - to undertake tasks in partnership with parents, to give advice, model and demonstrate in a way that encourages and empowers parents. 3 Able to respond to dangerous or inappropriate behaviour, to recognise and to report risk to children. What our client requires from you *Degree or equivalent in Social Work *2 years + experience in a similar role *Driver desirable *5 years references required *Satisfactory enhanced DBS check *Update service DBS accepted These positions are paying £16-18ph you must have 2 years experience.
