An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Paralegal to join Morrisons Solicitors LLP.  This position is based in Wimbledon. Morrisons Solicitors LLP is committed to three things: our clients, our communities and our teams. The purpose of this role is to undertake fee earning work supervised by the Fee Earners and meet the billing targets associated with this.  The role will involve supporting the busy Residential Conveyancing team in carrying out administrative functions in a timely and accurate manner. The successful candidate will be expected to do a high level of administration as well as some fee earning.  They will provide main support for 2 fee earners, and will also provide ad hoc support for another 2 fee earners.As a Paralegal, your duties and responsibilities will be:
To undertake a range of duties that will include:

Opening and closing files Preparing exchange of contracts documentation Assisting with completions and post completion work Liaising with clients in person by the telephone and in writing Preparing and drafting legal documentation Conducting searches  Preparing completion statements and bills Preparing SDLT Forms and Land Registry Applications.

To provide an efficient and friendly service to clients. To achieve this you will be expected to:

Adopt a business like, polite and sensible approach in your telephone and written dealings with clients, other solicitors and third parties Adhere to the client care standards set out in the firm's terms of business and Standards Manuals Write letters and produce documents in so far as possible in plain English and with a high quality of presentation.
An ideal Paralegal will have the following:Person Specification.
Degree or ILEX qualification or proven relevant experience. Demonstrative experience of Paralegal work working within the relevant area.
Skills, Attributes and Key Competencies
Ability to prioritise and organise workload. Ability to work under pressure. Ability to work within time constraints. Ability to work as a pro-active team member. Clear, concise and logical verbal and written communication skills. Able to use own initiative. Ability to work as part of a team/work alone. Good planning, organising and time management skills. Ability to prioritise well and work under a tight time schedule. Excellent user of email/word/excel, experience of using the internet for legal research. Must have good attention to detail. Must have good numerical skills Good knowledge of legal terminology and principles.The ability to analyse legal documents for accuracy.The ability to perform legal research.
