Main purpose of job

Scope of job
MSO Marine is looking for a painter/sprayer to join our paint team. We require a high standard finish to all our works. This role involves preparing and painting boats and other structures to a high standard. You will be required monitor quality control of coatings, advise where remedial works are necessary. You will be responsible for assisting in taking receipt of paint deliveries and auditing stock and equipment Other roles and responsibilities will be required including supporting cranage operations, Surface preparation including UHP cleaning, pressure washing, steam cleaning. You will be required when necessary to support towing and berthing of craft in MSO Marine.

Duties and Tasks
The preparation of vessels for painting. This included surface preparation including sanding and masking. Use of UHP water blasting to strip vessels back to bare metal for painting may be required.
Painting by airless spray, by hand, roller, gravity spray using various types of paints and varnishes including two pack epoxy and two pack polyurethane.
Have the ability to work outside and in varying degrees of temperature and differing environments.
Have a knowledge of the effects of weather variations on two pack paints.
Taking receipt of deliveries and storing appropriately.
Auditing and stock taking of paint and equipment and associated materials.
Preparation of craft ahead of hull surveys including cleaning surfaces.
General Housekeeping and cleaning duties including the maintenance cleaning of spraying equipment and consumables.
To have the knowledge and ability assess health and safety decisions and take action for yourself and others.
Support for moving craft, plant and equipment around the working area.
