The project investigates the effect of sleep on memory processes. Specifically, it will investigate how sleep will interact with rewards and information structure to influence memory performance.
What’s in it for me?
• Test your memory.
• You will be given an opportunity to win up to £140 depending on your performance during the task.
• Help a master’s student to complete his research project.
Who?
• Males
• Ages 18-30
• Read English fluently
• Non-smokers
• Regular sleep-wake schedule
What?
• There will be two sessions, 7 days apart.
• Each session is formed of one learning and one retrieval that last for 2 hours.
• First, you will learn a memory task and then have a retention interval of wake or sleep.
• When you return to the lab we will ask you to recall the task.
• In part two, this is repeated with the opposite retention interval (sleep or wake).
