ISH Venues has a new opportunity for an Operations Supervisor to join the team based in Central London. You will join us on a full time permanent basis and receive a highly competitive salary of £25,000 per annum plus excellent benefits!
ISH Venues, One Park Crescent (OPC) is located in the vibrant International Students House (ISH) in central London. OPC is a multipurpose and diverse venue which hosts conferences, meetings, trainings, launches and events throughout the year. The centre has seven flexible spaces that can support an array of clients from charities and local authorities through to corporate and international clients.
The Operations Supervisor Role
Our Operations Supervisor will be responsible for day-to-day planning and executing of all operational requirements for ISH/OPC/229thevenue. Liaising with clients on the day of the event to ensure requirements are met, supervising the Operations team, providing technical support, and assisting with room set up and administration.
The basic working week will be 40 hours, which will involve morning, evening and weekend hours in accordance with the business needs. A flexible attitude to working hours is essential and will therefore be expected at all times. Split shifts may be required on occasion.
Key Responsibilities of our Operations Supervisor.
You will be responsible for setting standard operating procedures, training the team based on these and ensuring all facilities are well maintained. Other responsibilities include:
- Be the first point of contact during OPC and ISH internal events.
- Supervise the Operations Team, ensuring that they receive appropriate induction, training, and communications.
- Assist with setting of all spaces and equipment for external and internal functions.
- Create weekly Rota for Operations Team
- Responsible for obtaining sign off on additional chargeable items.
- Any other ad-hoc duties required by the role.
Our Ideal Operations Supervisor
The position requires a proactive, self-managed, dynamic and flexible candidate with an open approach to problem solving. Proficient communication skills and ability to anticipate and adapt to meet clients’ needs will be a key part of this role. A friendly and professional nature is required along with a strong sense of attention to detail. Essential criteria includes:
- Venue and room set-up experience
- experience of supervising a team
- Computer literate
- Understanding of basic audio visual operation (laptop and data projector)
- Operation of sound equipment (PA Systems, Microphones) (Desirable)
- Conference event software, particularly “Rendezvous” (Desirable)
