Tate Enterprises LTD is the trading arm of the Tate Gallery. Its chief areas of operation are retailing on four sites and publishing Tate’s exhibition catalogues and general art books and developing unique merchandise. The Warehouse and Distribution Centre in Chadwell Heath provides logistical support, distribution and fulfilment services for Tate Enterprises customers, who include the Tate shops, the online shop customers, external international retailers and other galleries.
The Operations Manager role includes:
• Deliver full bi annual Company Stocktake and rolling inventory checks using the Wasp software and HHTs
• Deputise for the Warehouse and Logistics Manager in his absence
• Maintain a safe, secure working environment, making sure all relevant Health, Safety and Fire policies and procedures are strictly adhered to, with close attention to housekeeping and tidiness
• Ensure all orders are accurately and efficiently picked and dispatched to all Tate customers within agreed timescales and packaged to highest possible standard
• Supervise the accurate processing and receipt of all incoming deliveries of stock within agreed timescales from the Warehouse and Distribution Manager including planning and implementation of upcoming Exhibition Programme delivery
• Update stock and order records on computerised stock and sales system
• Co-ordinate Rota patterns to anticipate peak trading periods and fluctuating sales volumes
• Work closely with the Warehouse and Distribution Manager to facilitate the delivery of new product lines and books to our stakeholders and customers
• Maintain staff Rota and zero hours staff and staff leave records
• Monitor staff performance and report KPI’s to the Warehouse and Distribution Manager
• E-recruit new staff including zero hours
• Co-ordinate vehicle transport and agency drivers
• Any additional duties as required by the operational demands of the business
We are looking for someone who:
• Has proven experience managing a diverse and busy warehouse team
• Works quickly and effectively with great attention to detail and accuracy
• Is experienced working with stock management and courier systems
• Can effectively manage and implement instruction to senior assistants and has strong interpersonal skills
We are recruiting for 1 full time Operations Manager on a 5 out of 7 day Rota. We are hoping to interview during the week commencing Monday the 19th of June.
