Our Youth Council will help us shape the London Cadets, you will be involved in every aspect of our set up from helping us choice a name for our organisation (London Cadets is a temporary name), helping us design and choose what our uniforms and ranking structure will look like, supporting us recruit both adult volunteers and cadets (young people), helping us create youth programs that young people will love and enjoy as well as learn and gain new skills and experiences and so much more.
We are a start-up uniformed youth organisation that was set up on Sunday 12th November 2022, after taking part in Remembrance Day events over October and November and hearing the common worries and concerns of both young people and the older generation regarding the future of young people, including lack of British values, positive role models, and lack of youth services and positive things to do, lack of life and social skills and a lack or sense of responsibility and community spirit amongst young citizens in London today.
We want to pilot a uniformed youth organisation that is all about British values, community spirit and togetherness regardless of race, culture, religion, gender, sexuality and so forth in which young people will wear a uniform to give them a sense of pride, belonging and help give them respect within the community, helping to break the negative stereotypes often placed upon young people.
This will also give them an opportunity to take part in structured activities and programs where they will be able to earn badges and awards for their uniform and boost their future careers, as well as giving them the skills they need for their future adult lives, including life experiences.
