Office and Coding Camp Intern Job

Posted: 43 days ago
Place: Royal Oak/Westbourne Park

Intro
An amazing opportunity for a talented, conscientious person to experience life in a fast-growing edtech Startup. If you’re interested in tech and working with children, this could be just the internship for you!
About blue{shift}
Blue{shift} coding is an exciting edtech Startup based in the heart of West London. We teach a creative and innovative approach to coding and robotics to children aged 5-13 at after school clubs and holiday camps based in some of West London’s top independent schools, with a core teaching team of 20.
Our current classes focus on teaching the fundamentals of programming using Scratch, Blockly, Bitsbox, Robotics, Minecraft modding, Arduino, Java Script, Python, CSS and HTML in artistic and engaging ways. In 2022 we want to expand and deepen what we offer and are looking into further resources for mobile platforms, web tools and more advanced programming environments.
About the position
Blue{shift} is growing fast, and we need a smart, reliable intern to help us out around the office, and be an integral part of the planning and execution of our October half term and Christmas holiday coding camps; our biggest education events of the year. Our intern will be responsible for ensuring that all camp marketing materials, teaching documentation, and equipment is prepared, packed and monitored ahead of each camp. They will ensure that all our teachers have the correct information every day, and they will run our Class Dojo platform for communication with parents. They’ll be responsible for ordering equipment and food for the camp too.
Back at the office, the intern will be helping with flyer distribution, assisting with the creation of newsletters, monitoring and researching our competitors and processing our teachers’ and suppliers’ invoice. They will work closely with all parts of the company, from the Director and Business Manager to our Head of Content and Events Operations and Marketing teams. They’ll also be responsible for keeping the office clean and tidy, answering customer queries by phone and generally making sure that everything at blue{shift} runs as smoothly as it possibly can!
About you
First and foremost, you’re smart, focused, super-organised, and enthusiastic about working in a tech Startup. Ideally you’ll be excited about both working in technology and working with children alike - at camp you’ll be around a lot of 5-13 year Olds and they’ll often be looking to you for help! You’re a great communicator - both written and verbally - and you pride yourself on your attention to detail. You’ve got a great attitude when it comes to being asked to do things you’ve never done before, and you’re not afraid to ask for help when you get Stuck.
You understand that this is a Startup environment and as such everyone needs to pull their weight; you love a challenge and are great at solving problems whenever they come up (and they will!). You’re excited about working in a fun, informal office environment and being part of our little team for a short while!

Join us in our lovely, modern office in West London.
