Nursery Manager Required in London

Posted: Today
Place: Southwark, London

Leo's Den Nursery is an expanding SE London nursery school, located close to Bermondsey.
We are an OFSTED "Good" nursery and are registered to take 43 children between the ages of 4 months and 5 years old.
Our Nursery Manager is also an Owner/Director of the company and she is looking to step back from day to day activities to concentrate on the growth of the business (we also own a catering company).
We are therefore looking for a Nursery Manager to run the day to day activities of the nursery. This is a perfect step up for a current deputy manager or a great role for an existing manager who wants to concentrate on the "children" aspect of the nursery, rather than being bogged down in paperwork.
The Head Office of the nursery deals with all sales and purchase ledger activities, as well as the production of payroll for the nursery, daily production on the nursery's hot food, and initial recruitment of all of the nursery staff.
The Nursery Director will continue to deal with things such as weekly rotas for the staff, and the creation/implementation of policy - this will be done hand in hand with the Nursery Manager. The Nursery Director will also be available to cover much of the annual leave of the Nursery Manager.
This will leave the Nursery Manager to be in charge of the day to day operation of the nursery, dealing with all the daily planning, supervision of staff, risk assessments and safeguarding issues for the children. They will also do show arounds for potential parents, and be the face of the nursery with all parent/child issues.
The nursery has a skilled, well trained team of staff of varying ages and nationalities, as are the parents of the children at the school. The majority of the parents pay directly, but some are via the Governments Free Funding scheme.
The nursery capacity has recently been increased by 8 children to take advantage of this, and we currently have a planning application in to extend the capacity by a further 24 children.
This is an ideal opportunity for somebody to extend their skills within nursery management. You should already have a minimum of a Level 3 within early years learning, as well as good understanding of EYFS and a minimum of 2 years operational experience within a similar environment.
The company provides 28 days of paid annual holidays plus in work pension contributions. Live-in accommodation is possible if required. Salary will be from £26,000pa depending on skills and experience.
In the first instance please send your CV with a cover note to Tony Hailwood, Managing Director. We are looking to have a candidate in place by Monday July 17th.
