Quint Education is recruiting for a nursery chef based in a lovely intimate nursery in beautiful Forest Hill Area – South East London. This nursery has been established since 2006 and is now looking for a new chef to join their expanding team
Role: Nursery Chef / Cook
Rate: Negotiable
Hours of work: Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm
Location: Forest Hill (SE23)

Qualification needed:
Essential - Must hold Food and Hygiene certificate
Desirable - Level 2/3 (NVQ) Diploma in Professional Cookery or Level 2/3 Diploma in Advanced Professional Cookery
Person Specification:
Knowledge of budgets Knowledge and experience of time management
Understanding children’s dietary requirements
Ability to plan menus
Stock management and rotation
Understanding Health and Safety
Understanding of cross contamination
Understanding of child allergy requirements
Maintaining a clean and healthy environment
Maintaining a neat and professional appearance
Ability to record fridge and freezer temperatures
Ability to record food temperatures
Effective communicator – written and oral
Awareness of cultural and religious dietary requirements
Following safety legislation and good practice
Competence to work to Company Policies
Have dealt with outside agencies like health and safety officers etc.
To follow all current food safety guidance
To be aware of food allergies
Be able to organize, plan, cook nutritionally balanced meals for all including those with special dietary needs
To be responsible for the running of the kitchen
To be able to order correct amounts of food and control kitchen stock
To be able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative
To be able to manage own time and prioritize tasks
To have a good customer awareness
Be friendly, flexible and approachable

Job Role:
Nursery Chef/Cook - This is a permanent role working 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday
