Our Nursery Cook is responsible for ensuring that appetising and nutritious meals and snacks are provided to all the children who attend the nursery throughout the day. There are 4 meals in a day – breakfast, snack, lunch and tea. All food served is vegetarian. Our nursery is a 48 place setting, so the cook must be prepared to prepare this number of portions on a daily basis.
Within this role you will be expected to:
- Prepare and cook meals for the children each day and do the dishes after each meal.
- Be aware of different allergies that the children might have and prepare food for different dietary requirements, eg allergy to dairy products
- Make a weekly shopping list, while observing a given budget.
- Keep accurate records. A good level of English is required.
- Keep a clean, safe and tidy working environment; ensure that the cleaning Rota is followed at all times. The kitchen should have a high standard of cleanliness at all times.
- Follow company health and safety policy and procedures.
This role will require a DBS check at enhanced level to be obtained and 2 satisfactory references.

Required licence or certification:
• Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate (this can be done in the nursery, prior to starting)
experience of working as a cook/ chef in a paid capacity.
