Pre-school Level 3 Nursery assistant

Full time position

Salary range: Upwards of £8.00 per hour dependant on experience. (Term time only)

Jumping Jacks Nursery in Twickenham is a high quality childcare and early years learning nursery for 28 children between the ages of 2-5 years. We are seeking to recruit a committed and experienced Supervisor.

Duties will include:
•    To assist with the planning of the curriculum using the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum for guidance.
•    To act as a key person to a small group of children, liaising closely and building an effective relationship with parents/carers and ensuring each child's needs are recognised and met.
•    Work in partnership with parents/carers and other family members.
•    To advise the Pre-school Manager of any concerns e.g. Over children, parents or the safety of equipment, preserving confidentiality as necessary.
•    To teach children, offering an appropriate level of support and stimulating play experiences.
•    To ensure that children are kept safe and that you understand when to follow child protection procedures.
•    To attend training courses as required and to take responsibility for your development.
•    To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the Pre-school Manager, in accordance with the setting’s business plan/objectives.

It is essential that you hold a full and relevant Level 3 qualification in early years and childcare and have experience within an early years setting. Thorough working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage is also essential. A willingness to train further in order to keep up to date with current legislation. You will also have enthusiasm and commitment to maintaining the highest standards in childcare, with effective communication and motivating skills, possess a sound understanding of OFSTED requirements and procedures and have a positive approach to teamwork.
