Soho House and Co. Is a collection of private members' clubs and restaurants, catering to those in the film, media, fashion and creative industries. Soho House exists to create a comfortable home for a community of likeminded, creative people, wherever they are.
‘Bringing the house home’ – Soho House and Co. Have created Soho Home, a retail offering for members and customers, where our products are manufactured by and for Soho House.
We want to share the day-to-day life of our Houses, where our furniture, glassware and textiles are tried and tested in bustling bars and cosy bedrooms.
The Role
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, experienced and driven Product Developer, to look after the Lighting range at Soho Home. The ideal candidate will have experience working within product development in a home and Lighting capacity.
Key Responsibilities:

Negotiate the best prices and lead times with supplier to achieve the gross margin buying target and deliver targets. New ranges/products to be successful commercially, and maintain agreed margin and sales growth for the department.
Manage the departmental critical path (including supporting approvals), providing guidance and direction to junior members of the NPD team. To own and drive the production critical path. Manage your own product development schedule to ensure deadlines are reached in time.
Demonstrate good knowledge of your department, and materials supply (as well as the SH brand) base to ensure Soho Home buying power is fully leveraged. Perimeters).
Contribute as one of the NPD team by displaying a clear understanding of the Soho Home customer, ensuring their needs are understood and put at the heart of the product offer developed.
Working with the Merchandising and E-Com teams analyse historical sales in line with trends and design direction to manage product mix parameters including price architecture, colour balance, shape and margin to deliver a highly commercial and balanced range.
Contribute as an active member of the NPD team to work within a commercially focused and creative culture.
Work directly with supplier/manufacturer R and D and technical departments to ensure testing /tech packs/assembly instructions/Care instructions are delivered complete and on time to minimise sampling lead times.
Working with supplier and Soho Home QC representative ensure product is legal and compliant to UK standards.

experience:

2-4 Years experience in Lighting buying and development.
experience of European (including UK) and Far East production.
Relevant buying experience with a home/furniture retailer.
experience of visiting suppliers around the world, individually as well as in a group.
Understanding of manufacturing processes and furniture/upholstery construction; including industry standards and terms.
Negotiation experience
